Les Nations Unies tentent de dissimuler les meurtres de l’OTAN des civils en Afghanistan

Read the original (English) version here.

UN attempts to whitewash US-NATO civilian killings in Afghanistan

May 2011 found to be deadliest month for Afghan civilians since 2007; UN attempts to cover up NATO role
Article traduit en Francais par Irradiee.
By the Editor.
A 11 June press statement from the United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan slates May 2011 as the deadliest month for Afghan civilians since at least 2007. However this big-hearted announcement conceals a grossly pernicious attempt to cover up US-NATO killings of civilians in occupied Afghanistan.
In its report, UNAMA documents 368 conflict-related civilian deaths and 593 civilian injuries in May 2011. Georgette Gagnon, …

Libya war is about theft of state assets & total restructuring of nation

That the multi-billion dollar NATO military machine mobilises for humanitarian purposes is a desperate belief rooted in pure fantasy
By the Editor.
21st Century Wire’s Patrick Henningsen often speaks to Russia Today, and in his latest interview he covers a number of important issues with respect to the Libya war.
A popular mainstream media talking point is that NATO’s war is all about oil. Though Libya’s sweet crude oil is of high quality and thus very desirable, this is a short-sighted analysis. The motives go much deeper than that. Henningsen …

France stonewalls Gaddafi’s Greece-brokered peace deal using Greece’s EU-IMF-indebtedness as threat

By the Editor. Hat tip to @fazland for sharing this.
The UK Independent today reports that Muammar Gaddafi has been negotiating a deal with Greece to use $20bn of Libya’s frozen assets to broker a peace deal that would halt fighting, and provide humanitarian relief to both sides in the conflict.
The memo seen by the Independent reveals the fact that France has stonewalled this deal, using Greece’s EU-IMF-indebtedness as leverage and a threat.
If you really need any more proof that NATO doesn’t give a flying fuck about Libya’s …

Alexander Cockburn: Where’s the evidence of Gaddafi’s war crimes in Libya?

By Alexander Cockburn, June 9, 2011.
It’s pitiful, but scarcely surprising. After all the endless disclosures of Nato’s lies concerning its onslaughts on the former Yugoslavia in the late 1990s, and the hundreds of postmortems and official inquiries into the propaganda blitz before the attack on Iraq in 2003, the Western press is more gullible regarding Libya, less inclined to question official claims than in those earlier failures.
The bar was already low, but now that those supposed lessons have been acknowledged and ignored, it has been lowered even further.
Who …

LIBYA – Behind the Phony ICC ‘Rape’ Charges: Are NATO Forces Preparing a Ground Attack?

By Sara Flounders.
Without presenting a shred of reliable evidence, NATO and International Criminal Court conspirators are charging the Libyan government with conspiracy to rape — not only rape as the “collateral damage” of war, but rape as a political weapon.
This charge of an orchestrated future campaign of rapes was made at a major press conference called by the lead prosecutor of the International Criminal Court on June 8, 2011. The even wilder unsubstantiated ICC charge that Libya plans to mass distribute Viagra to its troops confirms this as …

NATO’s terror bombing of Libya

By Bill Van Auken, 9 June 2011 (via American Everyman).
The relentless bombardment of Tripoli over the past 48 hours represents a new stage in one of the most naked acts of imperialist aggression since the wars of conquest launched by Hitler and Mussolini in the 1930s.
Warplanes struck the Libyan capital 62 times between Tuesday and early Wednesday morning. The daylight air strikes underscored that Libya, its air force and air defense system devastated by earlier attacks, remains virtually defenseless in the face of the US-NATO blitzkrieg.
At least 31 people were …

Viagra-induced rape: ICC ups the ante on propaganda as desperate NATO struggles to crush Libyan resistance

By the Editor.
Several news outlets including the BBC, right wing Israeli paper Ynet News, and Yahoo News, are running the latest instalment in the desperate propaganda effort to bolster NATO’s flagging war on Libya.
The chief prosecutor for the International Criminal Court, Luis Moreno Ocampo, has said at a news conference today that his office is investigating the possibility that Gaddafi ordered rape to be used as a weapon to ‘control’ the population. Without providing a single shred of evidence Ocampo expounds what is basically a litany of baseless hearsay …

Humanitarian Neo-colonialism: Framing Libya and Reframing War

The world community is being subtly brainwashed to accept the radical neo-colonial policy of ‘humanitarian’ military intervention
Creative Destruction Part III
By F. William Engdahl. Global Research, May 4, 2011.
The most remarkable facet of NATO’s war against Libya is the fact that “world opinion,” that ever so nebulous thing, has accepted an act of overt military aggression against a sovereign country guilty of no violation of the UN Charter in an act of de facto neo-colonialism, a ‘humanitarian’ war in violation of basic precepts of the laws of nations. The …
